What’s your price?
There’s no standard price for a roof truss. The cost depends on several factors like: the size of your roof, the style, Effective span, loadings like aircons, geysers, and the type of roof covering you choose – just to name a few.
Is a zinc roof cheaper than a tiled roof?
No. In most cases, tiled roofs are around 25% cheaper than zinc roofs.
Are engineered trusses better than handmade trusses?
Yes. Engineered trusses are designed using professional engineering software to accommodate the respective Loads and minimising long term deflection, assembled with laser precision technology, and supplied with an official Engineering Compliance Certificate.long-term
Can you design my roof from an architect's plan?
Yes, we can. We may just need some additional details from you to ensure accuracy.
Can you install a tiled roof with a pitch under 17.5 degrees?
No. Tiled roofs are designed to work optimally at a pitch of 17.5° or more. At a lower pitch, wind dwind-drivenriven rain can ingress, which can lead to water leaks.
Does my zinc roof need isolation?
Yes. All zinc roofs require isolation (reflective foil). This acts as both a thermal and vapour barrier, helping to regulate temperature and prevent condensation on the underside of the sheeting.
Is it important to use locally manufactured Mittal South Africa sheets?
Yes. These sheets are made to meet South African quality standards and are specifically designed to withstand our climate conditions. Imported sheets cost less but it will fade and rust, reaching replacement stage in roughly 4 years.,
Is it important to know beforehand if I want solar on my new roof?
Yes. The weight and positioning of solar panels must be flong-termactored into the roof’s design to ensure structural integrity and limit long term deflection.
Is there a specific roof covering for pitches below 5 degrees?
Yes. We recommend concealed-fix sheeting, which uses hidden clips rather than screws through the sheet profile, making it watertight at low pitches.
What’s the difference between a barge board and a fascia board?
- Barge board: Fixed to the gable end of the roof.
- Fascia board: Fixed to the eaves/overhang, usually behind the gutter.
